The Diatom Wiki
This site is the home of the diatom wiki: a scientific community resource for diatomists.

Planned content includes an array of useful scientific information, including taxonomic, ecologic, and stratigraphic data about diatoms, as well as biographical information on diatomists, useful references, diatom terminology, and other educational tools.

Diatom Terminology The diatom terminology section now has more than 500 defined terms covering common jargon used to describe diatom valve features, morphology, ecology, and taxonomy. Diatom Web Resources A comprehensive list of alternative web resources including links to taxonomic and ecological web databases, journals, and websites for scientific meetings. Taxonomic Information Section We are currently populating the descriptions of genera. Use the wiki menu (left) to quickly browse to a specific taxonomic level.
